A mammoth stone inscription made by Ahom general Kalia Bhomora Phukan who planned to construct a bridge, over Brahmaputra could be seen here. Almost two centuries later a bridge over Brahmaputra was completed. The 3.05 KM bridge connecting Nagaon & Tezpur was opened on 03.04.87 by then Honorable Prime Minister of India Late Rajib Gandhi.
