Phato Bihu at Dhakuakhana, the most famous and historic Bihu of the greater area at Mohghuli Chapari was celebrated from May 9 to May 11.
Phaat Bihu function was begin on May 9 at 9 am with flag hoisting by Keshab Gogoi. Followed by smriti tarpan initiated by Sabilal Jain. At 10 am the Bihu mancha was opened by the ex-headmaster Tarun Patir where Taka Bihu and Chamonia Bihu competitions was held.
The second day’s programme was begin with Kapou phul Plantation in the morning which was be followed by Phulam gamocha and husori contests. In the afternoon, “Bihuwan”, the souvenir of Phaat Bihu was released by noted writer Jimoni Choudhary.
A colourful cultural procession was taken out at 9.30 am which was flagged off by artist Sagarika Goswami. The most attractive Mukali Bihu contest was held at 12 noon.
